Evergreen Shutters: 3D shutter previews inside an internal quoting system

Evergreen Shutters Ltd sells made-to-measure window shutters, where almost every order is a different combination of panel layout, louvre size, frame style and finish. Their sales team quotes those combinations from an internal platform — and needed the customer to actually see what was being quoted.
Rather than building a 3D viewer from scratch, they integrated the Simplio3D API into the quoting workflow they already had.
The internal quoting system needed visual accuracy across thousands of shutter configurations — not a handful of preset product photos.
A custom 3D viewer that matched their own rules, logic and product options would have required extensive development and high cost.
Staff wanted immediate visual confirmation of each configuration while the quote was being prepared, not after.
Evergreen Shutters integrated Simplio3D’s API directly into their quoting workflow. Each time a configuration is submitted, their system sends a structured JSON payload to Simplio3D. The Simplio3D engine interprets the data, generates a fully customised 3D view of the shutter, and returns the visualisation to Evergreen’s own interface.
That generated model is then attached to the internal quote, so both sales staff and the customer have an accurate, real-time visual reference of exactly the product being proposed.
Notably, the 3D layer never became a separate destination. It renders inside the tool the sales team already worked in — which is why adoption required no change in process.
A member of the sales team completes a shutter specification in the internal quoting platform — panel layout, louvre size, frame, finish.
The quoting system sends the configuration to Simplio3D as a structured JSON payload rather than rendering anything itself.
The engine interprets the configuration data and produces a fully customised 3D view of that exact shutter.
The generated model is handed back to Evergreen’s interface and attached to the quote the customer receives.
Configurations submitted from the quoting platform, returned as accurate 3D views.

The team avoided building a complex 3D viewer from the ground up.
Using the Simplio3D API made advanced visualisation affordable and scalable for the range.
The viewer sits naturally inside the quoting system Evergreen already used.
Staff can present an accurate, customised 3D preview immediately, which increases clarity and customer confidence.
This integration was built with the Simplio3D API as it stood in 2025. The description above reflects what Evergreen Shutters actually implemented. A team starting the same project now would have two further options available to them:
@simplio3d/sdk is a typed client for the same REST API, covering option blocks, pricing, quote submissions and webhooks — useful when the quoting system needs to author configuration data as well as request a visual.Neither was part of the original Evergreen implementation.
Shutters, windows and doors share the same pattern: a large rule-driven option space, quotes that need a picture attached, and an existing internal system that should stay in place.
